In the video Mike makes the comment that the Bridgestone ball has a lower compression of 80 and therefore will spin less because it compresses more. Is this correct? It seems like more compression equals more surface area of the ball on the club face and therefore it would have more friction to create side spin. Am I completely off base here?
A little bit. He is speaking for this golfer. If you are not compressing the golf ball you can in fact bring in unwanted spin.
