GHIN - Enter Scores If Playing By Yourself
If you play a round as a single do you enter your score in GHIN?
I know the scorecards have scorer and attest. And, I understand that some players may sandbag it and turn in high scores to jack their hdcp up. But, when I play by myself, and I play well, I still feel a responsibility to turn that score in. But, if GHIN "requires" that you have someone else in the group, am I needlessly improving my handicap by turning in the good scores from when I play as a single. |
My club gave me my GHIN number and I registered it online. I post all my scores that I play with someone else or by myself. If they did not want us to, then they should not have enabled internet posting ability for the end golfer, only the club.

According to the USGA Rules, YES.
5-1a/2. Score Made When Playing Alone Q: If a player plays alone, should the score be returned for handicap purposes? A: Yes, provided the round is played in accordance with the Rules of Golf. |

YEah, I think that's a problem even with attested scores. People hitting poor shots after they've won or can't win a hole; blowing putts by, etc. The key is "play by the rules", and have integrity after all, it's a Gentleman's Game,

I have a question though.
For those who post online. Are you allowed to post scores from previous months?(2012 year not any from 2011) Or only scores from in season? |
I turn in my cards when I plat alone and my course posts it for me

I post all scores alone or not. I follow all the rules I know of (no mulligans whether I warmed up or not, no gimmes, provisionals etc etc) whenever I'm playing by myself. Ultimately, shows me how my game is doing.

I play alone the majority of the time and I always turn mine in!
