Default Lesser known golf etiquette
We all know the parts of golf etiquette like; don't talk during someone's swing, don't walk in someone's putting line, etc... What are some lesser known bits of golf etiquette. Some things that come to mind to me are:

-Stay on the tee box and putting green until everyone is done

-Don't talk to your fellow player's ball, (i.e. "go, go!", "bite, bite", "cut!", "hit the pin", etc...)

-Take care of removing/tending/replacing the pin as often as possible, (especially if you're the closest to the hole on approach)

What else?

Interesting. I always thought occasionally talking to your fellow player's ball shows are are rooting for him, as in sometimes its a good thing.

I'm guilty of talking to other peoples' golf balls. I mean well though!

Yeah, I've heard both sides of this. I personally think it's ok for someone to talk to my shot, but I can also see why some are annoyed by it. But I am with you, ripper, it's a positive for me.

There was a great article in Golf Digest on why you shouldn't talk to a partner's ball. Their biggest point was that it sort of shows that they pity you. I would hate people talking to my shots. Don't tell my ball to cut, if I hit it with cut spin, it will cut, but it can't hear you. It just makes me feel like they pity me for hitting a bad shot. Just my opinion.

I agree when it's someone you know really well like a family member or a good friend. I wouldn't do that with a casual friend or just some guy I was paired up with for a round

I read that and laughed about it pretty good actually.

That's a good point, there are things that go with your usual group that you shouldn't do with unknown people you're paired up with.

Don't poop on the fairway.
How could I forget. Great point.

Crap! I talk to my partners ball all the time. It never ocurred to me that he might think I pity him, especially when he's kicking my arse.

I usually stand next to the pin on the green if I'm the first to hole out. However, I don't usually pick it up until the last person is done. Often someone else will pick up the pin before the last person is done and therefore replace the pin before I have a chance. Does anyone know when the proper time to pick up the pin is? Before of after the group has putted out?

Look around before you urinate. Women and girls play golf, too.

with the guys I regularly play with I don't mind if one of them talks to my ball, and they don't mind the same. (boy I had a hard time choosing that wording) I pretty much keep to myself on the teebox/greens when playing with people I don't know though.

LMAO! I did that once last year. I cracked up laughing before I even hit the ball. (Yes, even at 30, farting is still funny)

Don't light a bowl when the guy in front of you is playing with his 15 year old.
