The Shot You Dread the Most.

Long bunker.....horrifying!!!http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/shock.png

For me it is definitely every tee shot.

Herimoisige 07-13-2009 06:06 PM

Anything over water. My golf balls love to commit suicide by drowning.

DextExexy 07-13-2009 06:08 PM

I hate severe downhill lies. I have finally begun to learn how to play them, but that doesn't make me like em. Also, I am learning how to lay up so I am not faced with them.

finasteride 07-13-2009 06:14 PM

every tee shot, esp the first one with at least 10 people watching you

I hate that too. When I play with my brother at his club, the first hole is right next to the patio and everyone is out there having a drink. I'm right handed so I have to face them - makes me crazy.

Oswczrdz 07-13-2009 06:24 PM

anything in the sand....the sand is my enemy.

DextExexy 07-13-2009 06:28 PM

I have a buddy that just cannot hit the ball if his shadow is falling on it... I know it seems crazy, but I have seen him do it time and again.

Buried bunker shots(fried eggs).

HowardtheDuck 07-13-2009 06:30 PM

Hanging lies, when I am not paying attention. Next would be just the opposite. Thin lies on wet turf/mud. http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...s/computer.gif

I would have to say tee shots where a road runs down the left side of the fairway (I am left handed) so if my slice desides to show up I have a chance of smoking a car. Once you get the picture of that bad shot in your head it often comes true. http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...ies/angry2.gif

totally forgot this type of shot! anytime there's a road or houses nearby it's bad.

HowardtheDuck 07-13-2009 07:00 PM

My home course is lined with homes on the left on every hole. Back yards with pools, and kids playing in them. On the right is wet/dry water hazard on every hole. I am right handed, and bad shot for me most of the time is a hook. Some days it is a 5-W off the tee, even on the par 5s. Then again, get me on a course that is wide open off the tee, and it's me and my driver swinging for the fence.http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...ies/banana.gif

Yep. I play a course that has the similar thing for righties. Oh and not to mention there is a sign on the tee that reads "Warning!! You are liabile for any hit vehicle." No pressure right?

Tazqoaap 07-13-2009 07:10 PM

The two that get me all wound up are both bunker shots:

Anything up against a bunker lip, where there's no footing (think pot bunker)

And not to forget the bunker shot where the pin is only 3-4 feet onto the green, no place to land it without running it out (I haven't perfected a higher bunker shot so it stops on a dime)

I always feel like I'm about to break my wedge when I swing at the first one, since I can't follow through, that gives me anxiety.

The second one, I either don't get the ball out because I decelerate my down swing, or I keep the speed up, catch it thin, and have to chip it back up onto the green because it came out way too hot. Again, anxiety playing a shot I'm not comfortable with.

Any full shots, particulary driver, with strong wind coming from left to right. It's completely mental I know, but I'm so worried about push-slicing it that I many times will close the face and pull-hook it.

I don't fear tee shots, but I hate having a gallery. I love playing in the company scramble, but hate that when it gets backed up and all of a sudden you have 10 people watching you tee off. http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...bulgy-eyes.png

Water. Hubby even bought me a dozen balls that said, "Water is a magnet." They all drowned.

Usually when I play I switch out my golf ball on holes that have water. I have yet to hit a ball I didn't care if it went in the water, actually in the water. But that brand new Warbird, e6+, Pro V1 will just jump right out of my hand totally skip the tee and roll right into the water.

almost forgot.....tequila!
