Default Shakespeare Adaptations
Has anybody been watching the adaptations on Monday nights? I've seen a couple, including last night's A Midsummer Night's Dream. At first, I was a bit sceptical, because unlike many of the other modern adaptations, it's scripted in modern language. I saw it as a bit odd, considering much of Shakespeare's hype is centred on the language. However, I love the BBC recent adaptations, as they concentrate heavily on plot, and are just really good dramas above anything else. If it changes some people's views about Shakespeare, and encourages people to possibly read or watch some of his plays, then I reckon it's done a decent service.
