Ok well i'm actually talking about the music reality tv shows like Pop Idol or American Idol , fame academy and popstars..DO you think these are good ideas?? whats your thots on them ..

My thots:

At first i thought Pop Idol was great,They should only have done one tho to be honest,they ruined it by doing another one.

American Idol is actually more popular in america than pop idol is in the UK..I think Kelly Clarkson will last,being honest i also think Will Young will last because a lot of Adults are into his music.

Now Fame Academy.The first was decent but the winner isn't around much anymore,the best thing that came from that was Lemar who is a promising artist

Right,now onto Popstars, and "Hearsay" now i dont have a clue what happened with them but the public just seemed to lose interest pretty quickly

I can't stand all these stupid ass reality shows. Half the time it's not actual "reality" anyway. Now I must admit, American Idol is pretty good but come on, after three can we have sonme air space for a good t.v. show? And not these dumb-ass O.C. bullshit shows. Then again it's cheaper. I guess idol will be okay as long as they keep getting people with a little talent.

I just actually just gonna make a topic expressing my hatred for ALL reality shows. It's pretty sad now that 90% of the sit-coms on TV are more realistic than reality shows. That's my first problem with them. They're not reality. When's the last time you were stranded on a desert island with a group of people and competed in crazy challenges with another group of stranded people for a can of beans? And who really cares who Donald Trump's next assistant is gonna be? I can't even stand to look at that guy. The Bachalor shows (I'm talking all the ones where people get married at the end) are ridiculous too. They're just gonna break up in a month or two. American Idol too; I remember when it was cool to hate pop stars like Britney Spears, etc. What the hell is going on!? The judges are crap too. You got one ligitimate singer, but who the hell is that Randy guy? And why on God's green earth do you get the guy who put together the Spice Girls to judge this?! They're all just so lame and stupid. I'm so sick of all this shit.

My second problem is with the "NEW REALITY SHOW.................................... WITH A TWIST". I think the Joe Schome show started it all. At first I actually did like the Joe Schome show; the only reality show I liked. But then it started a whole new genre of reality shows; the reality show with a twist. Big FAt wedding, WB's Superstar (I hate the WB BTW), etc. Where's the fun in watching the show for weeks when you know the "twist" from the start. Not to mention that on top of the twist you already know, it's also a "reality" show; making it a double steaming pile of shit.

And finally my last problem. By now you might be saying "If you hate reality shows, just don't watch them". Well I don't, but they've gotten so out of control, they've taken over most of TV now. I see great shows being cancelled all the time only to be replaced by a lame reality show. I could make a list, but I couldn't possibly name the shows that we're missing out on all together because reality shows are all over.

Hopefully this crappy trend will eventually die. Hell, one reality genre already died off. Remember those "Let's stick a camera in front of a group of people's faces and throw them into the haunted houses and when they see something scarry all you see is their expression" shows? Those were all over when the Blair Witch came out; MTV and Family mostly showed them. Haven't seen one in a long time. I'm really suprised how many people here do like reality shows; usually at message boards I find a large group of people like me that hate every last one.

Pop Idol produces a bunch of no talent idiots. For shows like Big Brother you have to look no further than Jade Goody as to why they shouldn't exist. Stupid bitch becomes famous from it.

I hate these shows. The people who win will never be as famous as they would be if they made it on their own, in my opinion. They'll always be "the one who came from American Idol". That's how it was with WWE Tough Enough. After winning, it's not like you got a major gimmick in WWE because everyone knew who you were.

Then not to mention whoever comes in 2nd or 3rd place ends up getting a record contract anyways, kinda pointless.

But I hate everything on TV, so yeah...

I have nothing against the shows, since I admit to watching them. I think some of the artists that come from the shows are generally talented, like Liberty X for instance. All the members have way better voices than the members of Hear'say did, yet they were the ones who were labelled 'flopstars'. Now look where they are. I admire them for overcoming that.

A lot of other artists that came from them are great too. I think aslong as there's not too many of the shows on at the same time then they're fine.

"Reality" TV tends to be complete garbage with no basis whatsoever in reality, defeating the entire point of the genre's name. Plus, they aren't even that entertaining.

I can't stand any of those reality music ones like american idol. They didn't earn anything, while a lot of people in music actually went through the tough road to be famous. they are a complete joke IMO.
