Tried this idea a few years ago and it fell flat, but with Grindhouse on the way maybe more people will be a Tarantino mood.
Over the next few weeks we will try to determine GamingRing's favourite Quentin Tarantino character using a series of polls, each of which will list the main characters from a movie for which Tarantino wrote the characters and screenplay/story. Once a favourite has been found for each film, we'll put all the winners head-to-head in a final poll to crown GR's favourite QT character. As it stands the movies featured will be: From Dusk Till Dawn, Jackie Brown, Natural Born Killers, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and True Romance. It's worth noting that, although Jackie Brown is an adaptation of an Elmore Leonard novel, Tarantino changed many aspects of the characters; as an example, Jackie Brown was originally a white woman named Jackie Burke. Four Rooms has not been included, but if enough interest is shown for adding it, it shall be. Those are of course in addition to the Tarantino movie that will feature in this poll, Kill Bill. Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 will be done together due to the amount of character-crossover between the two. In addition to the characters listed, there is an 'Other' selection; if you choose that option, be sure to make it clear who it is that you're voting for! My vote has changed this last time round. I'll now be voting for Bill; I love how slick and deceptively sinister the character is, and Carradine does wonders with the role. I'd also say he gets the best dialogue. Voting for each poll will last for four days, so vote while you can! |

Oh man, Tarantino's movies have the best Characters. So realistic and so much fun to watch. I remember about 2 months ago, i watched almost all his movies in a 2 or 3 weeks span. I was hooked to his movies for some reason. lol. Jackie Brown, Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs are crazy.
Have u seen 4 Rooms? Oh man, that movie is a MUST WATCH! |

Four Rooms isnt anything special, the movie starts to actually become interesting when RR takes over and from there QT ends it off.
Favorite character from Kill Bill, hmmm. I'm going to have to go with Budd. I've always enjoyed Michael Madsen's characters in QT's films. He does a great job at playing a some what caring character, who is having a hard time in his life at the moment. With having a shitty job and his boss being a prick and cutting his job dates down to none. At the same time he can turn into a very psychotic person, but at the same time he is able to control himself. It's shown in the scene where he is going to bury Beatrix alive. That is him being psychotic but at the same time, he shows a side of compassion; he threatens to spray her in the face with mace, instead of just spraying her, he offers her a choice. |

I'm yet to see Four Rooms, unfortunately. I almost bought it once but went for The Machinist instead. The main reason I didn't intend to include it was because I wasn't sure how much of it was actually QT, it having four segments helmed by four different people and all. But if there's demand, it gets a place.
![]() ![]() And I love how we get introduced to Budd's quaint little life; it helps add so much more depth to a character that could easily have been a one-dimensional killer. |

Ya, when it comes to Four Rooms, i dont think we can include it in here for one reason, the movie is not made by QT alone. It was four different people and four different small stories that made for a good movie to watch. QT used his last segment perfectly to end it. It was amazing and funny.
As for Kill Bill Characters, i just loved Bill's cool and calm yet demonic side. He seems to be a cool guy one time and cold blooded the other. Love them characters. ![]() ![]() |

I like Bill and Bud a lot, but I probably like Bud more. "that woman deserves her revenge.....and we deserve to die....but so does she....." NICE!
and I like how he took out Uma, waiting in his lazy boy and blasted her when she tried to come in the door! ![]() I liked Bill the most when he found out she was still alive expecting her to be dead. I kinda understand how he'd be furious to find her alive. great stuff when he had his Superman speech. |

Easy choice for me, hands down Budd is the most bad ass character in the movie. Michael Madson is a pimp, and he definitley brought a great performance in this one. Didnt exactly have the biggest part in the movie, but he definitely made it count. |

Yeah, I agree that Budd's scenes are amongst the best in the film. Love how he's rocking back and forth to 'A Satisfied Mind' right before The Bride bursts open the trailer door! Madsen was born to play cool characters.
But my favourite scene is probably, probably the scene at the chapel when we meet Bill for the first time. Whenever I think of Kill Bill I think of the camera slowly zooming back down the aisle toward the chapel door, while Bill plays the flute off-screen. Brilliant stuff. |

Kill Bill, 1 and 2, is among the top movies I enjoy. Kill Bill is awesome 'cause it's not complicated wit' other useless crap to fill a story. it's straight to the point as Tarantino said in the making of Kill Bill 2. 5 people kill a woman and the woman is determined to get them back. what more is there supposed to be?

I like Pai Mei, O-Ren Ishii, Bill and Budd.
Pai Mei 'cause he's just a serious master that don't take no shit. love how he bullied Uma and was talkin' about how her arm was his and that he could do anything he wanted with it, lol. nice. O-Ren 'cause she was a true boss. best scene when she was in a meeting wit' other bosses and one guy didn't like how things were going and the way she ended his life was awesome! another O-Ren scene is when she's walkin' down a hall rollin' deep wit' her gang lookin' as cool as you can get--ice cold! awesome scene. Budd was all types of cool. when Uma went him, and blasted her to hell, that was the MAIN time I WISHED she didn't come back! the movie should've been over there how he buried her. you can't come back from the way Budd put away Uma! |
