He is able to extend life unnaturally, it's all part of Sith alchemy nad magci, you should also know that in the last Star Wars film Palpatine doesn't die, his spirit goes into one of his clones. Thanks for the info and heres a tip next time use the spoiler tag like so.

Default Revenge of the Sith *spoiler warning*
Stay out if you want no spoilers

In Episode 3, Palpatine tells Anakin that the Sith have the power to cause the midichlorians to create life, as well as extend it. If you believe Palpatine, then Anakin's "divine birth" could really be something much darker. Darth Sidious/Palpatine said he and his master used manipulation of midichlorians to create Anakin and Palpatine refers to Ankain as 'son' in Episode 3.

He also says the Sith have the power to extend life "unnaturally"...do you think this is true, or is Palpatine shining Anakin to get him to join the dark side? I think Palpatine could be telling the truth, because that would explain why he's so old.

What do you think?

So CBM, how is Sidious alive. There are no movies after Episode VI and Anakin/Vader is the chosen one and he's the one who can bring balance to the force. But if Palpatine/Sidious is still alive then Anakin isn't the chosen one to stop the siths because he's dead. The prophecy says Anakin will bring balance to the force by destroying all siths, yet this can't be if Palps is alive and Anakin/Vader has died?
