Yo~

Well I'm glad it's different because I just saw Volume 1 today and was thinking to myself that I could have written the story (so far) with my butt cheeks. I was just at the beach with my girlfriend talking about how I hope the 2nd one has more of a story to it, and apparently it does.

I might go see it but frankly I don't see why everyone shits their pants over these films, I've enjoyed other action movies much more. The only thing I can really say is that the choreography for the fight scenes must have been an enmormous task and I'll give them credit for that. Otherwise I don't see why everyone jerks off Quentin Tarantino. The main things I liked about Kill Bill were the animation sequences and some of the fighting, neither of which have that much to do with the director.

Oh well I guess I'm just never one to enjoy something that everyone else loves, I like to be different, heh.

Default kill bill volume 2 is great
I just caught "Kill Bill volume 2" and it was great. It's very different from the first movie and is not all swords and fighting, this is more story driven and follows the Bride as she goes to mexico to go after Bill, the guy who shot her in the head and put her into her coma.
David Carridine is great as Bill. I havent seen him much since kung fu years back, but he's really good in this role. Michael Madson doesn't have a whole hell of a lot to do as Bud, (Bills brother) but he's good in his part. I was just really hoping for another Mr.Blonde type part in this, but that wasn't the case. Uma of course is the bride and this is a great vehicle for her. So I'd recommend the movie, but if you go expecting the violence/gore in volume 1 you'll be disappointed because its very different.

"freddie vs jason" was pretty cool(except for that damn scene when they have jason bouncing around link a ping pong ball complete with arcade sound effects) but to each their own. The movies arn't even remotely similar, ones a horror and the other an action/revenge movie. If your looking for a funny horror flick I'd avoid Kill Bill 2 as well.

Well I thought just by watching previews for both these movies that they looked really cheesy. But I just rented Vol. 1 today and was really suprised at how good it was. It had some odd parts, but I liked it. I'm gonna go see Vol. 2 sometime this week.

I think the best thing about tarrentinos movies--like Pulp fiction and resevior dogs--is the dialog and the interplay between characters. he's really good at writing dialog and has a ton of funny/cool lines. All that was missing from "Kill Bill vol 1" which isn't any knock on the movie as I thought it was excellent. Again its not so much the story but the stylish was it was told, the montages involved when for example the Ellie Driver character is planing of offing the bride in the hospital when she's in her coma was visually impressive, and as you said the showdown at the tea house was pretty impressive. I definately enjoyed volume 1. At the same time voluime 2 is more story driven, less violence involved. A lot of people had a hard time dealing with the violence is "Kill Bill 1" which never bothered me because I like violent movies, but its not nearly as violent is volume 2 which is ok because the second had some nifty plot twists and surprises.
I wouldn't go so far to say we shit our pants over any movie, but I always look foreward to a tarrentino movie.
