![]() You are supposed to stop eating as soon as the adhan is called out, correct? My family thinks that it is permissible to eat and drink while the adhan is being called out all the way to its end. I told them this is wrong, but they wont believe me. Is there fast invalid? We live in the United States so we hear the adhan on TV, not from a live muezzin. |

![]() Mufti Abdul Kader Hoosen in his Book ' Ramadaan Q & A ' says: Question Many people are still eating sehri, whilst the Azaan for fajr is being rendered. Is there fast valid Answer If the Azan was given before Fajr time then partaking of sehri is permissible, however in this instance the Azaan must be repeated On time according to the Hanafi scholars. If the Azaan was given on time, after True Dawn and people are still eating there sehri, then there fast is broken and Qadha will be compulsory. from: http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/show...l=1#post798741 ![]() |

i heard from our Mufti Sahab here in Jeddah, we asked him till what time we can have food in suhoor.
he replied, till before azaan is called, it is better if you stop a few minutes before. if you hear azaan & you have a morsel(water) in your mouth you have to spit it out or else your fast is invalidated. The Salafi's are of the opinion that you can eat till the azaan ends. |

is the adhaan on tv fully accurate for your city? Say you didn't know of this ruling (that you're supposed to stop eating before adhan), will you have to repeat those fasts? |

![]() I asked about this from a scholar and he said if one is drinking/eating while subh sadiq has begun than he will have to make qadha of that fast. Also a related query answered at Askimam http://www.askimam.org/public/question_detail/14856 ![]() |
