Default Well-circulated Hadith about divorce is fabricated
As-salamu alaykum.

I have heard the below Hadith spread by many people with good intentions. However, I recently found that it is a fabricated Hadith.

27 – ((Marry and do not divorce for verily divorce causes the throne of Allah (‘arsh) to shake)). Fabricated; see "Tarteeb Al-Mawdoo'at" (694), "Al-Mawdoo'at" by Al-Sagh'ani (97), and "Tanzeeh Al-Sharee'a" (2/202)

I think it is important to discuss the fabrication of this Hadith because it is often used to pressure Muslims into staying in marriages that they have valid reasons for wanting to leave.

Before people start taking the thread down this route, I want to make it clear that in no way am I attempting to suggest that this Hadith's being fabricated means that divorce is not a very serious action that should be avoided in Islam. However, we do not need to spread misinformation about Islam, such as a fabricated Hadith, in order to help people see the truth or to get Muslims to take their obligations seriously.

JazakAllahu Khayran for all of your responses.
