Salaam to all.
I wanted to address and share a trend I've noticed in the last few years across the Muslim world. I have noticed that once-secular struggles have taken an Islamic cause, and not a watered-down version either. Most, if not all of these struggles, are born out of the most ubiquitously nationalist pockets of the world, examples being Chechnya and what some know as "Pashtunistan" among others. For most of the past century, all of these numerous ethnic-nationalist causes played the biggest part in the political and even social development of Muslims in Kashmir, Somalia, Bosnia, the whole Caucuses, Kurdistan, Pashtunistan, Baluchistan, East Turkestan, the list is endless. A note; in this address I am not including the blind "Arab Spring" protests, who still cannot differentiate between corrupted Islamic groups, like Muslim Brotherhood, and real Islamic change. My opinion is that the modern Arab world is far less mature than the various nations I named above, whose people are lucky to have been exposed to direct interactions with enemies who attacked them because of their religion. In virtually all of those cases named above, Islam has slowly and progressively overtaken the ethnic and nationalist agendas that reigned for a century, and the results have been positive. In Rafidi Iran, the Balochi people disposed of the various ethnic liberation fronts and today we hear much more about the mujahideen Jundullah than any of the previous secular groups. In Chechnya, the entire model of the nationalist "Ichkeria" dream has been trashed, even by its former president, who is now the leader of the Caucasian Emirate. In Uyghur-inhabited China, the former East Turkestan Liberation Front has now been replaced by the East Turkestan Islamic Front, and as you can see in the media they have made great gains. In Kashmir the secular and useless Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front has been replace by various allied mujahideen groups, and the struggle has seen great success. In Somalia, the various clan-based factions were replaced by the "moderate" Islamic Courts Union, which itself was phased out by the mujahideen Al-Shabaab. And in Maghreb of Africa we have witnessed the union of failed Tuareg nationalists, failed Fulani nationalists, and failed Algerian "Islamists" who were disillusioned by the kufr electoral system all coming together under the banner of Islam to fight for one state, and at this moment we are witnessing the brothers in Nigeria joining the fold. Even the Muslims of Palestine have seen through the wishy-washy ways of Hamas, who openly engage in kufr politics and who have no interest in Khilafah nor greater concern for the Ummah, and these Muslims peacefully created a genuine Islamic cause in Palestine, known as Jund Ansar-Allah, whose leaders and defenders were martyred (may Allah have mercy on them) by the reckless Hamas thugs who are too scared to face Israel. I do not know if you all have been paying attention to all of these developments but its a trend I take great comfort in. |

But the question to ask is, as best as we can tell, what is the reason for all this?
I'm inclined to believe it is because the secular nationalist parties failed so people are looking to Islam as a potential solution but mainly to the same problems. I hope that makes sense. If not, I can expand insha'allah. |
