Default Intoxication's effect of Good deeds
Salaam Please can somebody help me about A person who has drank Alcohol and used other drugs- but deeply regretted it and has been praying regularly as much as possible even though on and off and has been fasting for Muharram and also carrying out other good deeds and is TRYING to change, they have also prayed for forgivness Allah knows best if they have forgiven.. I knew that once a person intoxicated themselves their good deeds and prayers would not be accepted for 40DAYS but I always thought If a person is severley sorry and regretful and prays for forgiviness and makes the right intention to change and stop these bad habbits that their ibbadah and good deeds would be accepted and that 40DAYS WOULD NOT THEN COUNT FROM THEN ON. Is this possible? or is their no point in good deeds or praying untill these 40 days are over? Also I get a lot of wasawasa from the devil .. imagining 'drinking alcohol.. in a sense making future plans for like partys etc.. and doing other bad things.. I try to toally avoid these thoughts but he's constantly nagging me with them.. Im scared of doing something bad along these lines again and I really dont want too and these wrong thoughts that I have I would'nt want them to be counted as intentions because they really arent its just satan keep on putting these next weird thoughts into my head!!

Somebody please help.
Jazak-Allah

Brother don't stop your Salah or good deeds, carry on doing them. Keep on asking Forgiveness to Allah. Here is the Best Dua for Forgiveness: http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/show...-and-Magrib%29

Also I have attached a really good book on how to Combat the Whisperings of the Shaytaan. Its a small book, but very beneficial . Also recite Ayatul Khursi often and make lots of Dua, indeed Allah is the Most Beneficent and the Most Merciful.
