from the article it seems that they had copies of their passport and documents and the originals were in a safe place (standard procedure when in jamaat) and once everything is verified inshallah they will be released.

i always though that in high risk countries the authorities are informed when a jamaat will be staying over?

bro imagine the pakistani jamaat... they probably given the guards hardcore dawat (allah se hota hay), we call it 'raiwand intel pentium chipping':
