No, he was providing an analogy and your trying to get out of it. Simply put, if it is impossible for a ship to float all the way to its destination without a ship, then it is even more illogical that the conditions in the universe came to be in such a state that life could begin.

The analogy is flawed, because the universe is chaotic.
