Default Lets stop worshipping the 'internal idols'

We do not worship idols on the outside. That's shirk.

But Islam stops us from worshiping idols internally also.

When we do something very nice and beautiful and praiseworthy, if we think its because of My ability i got the job done. Its like worshipping an idol but internally. Eg: we think we got the job interview because I was smart, or passed the exam only due to my hard work, He became muslim because of my dawah, my kids are disciplined because i am strict, My business is doing good since i m very clever etc etc.

Remember Allah has given many examples to us that all these is not our ability but its all from Allah. Prophet Ibrahim was never able to convince his father to become a muslim, neither was our beloved Rasoolullah able to convince his uncle. This are reminders that even the best of human beings, the Prophets, get their ability from Allah. Only by Allah's will we have these abilities.

All of this comes from Allah . All these are Mercy of Allah, so we should thank Allah first. We forget this part very often. One of the extreme example is Firawn, he was so arrogant that he declared himself to be god. So Allah has preserved his body as an example to us. We shouldn't indulge ourselves too much. Always remember whatever we are its because of Allah and give him the due praise. If we are taking pride in our abilities it should be only after praising the One who gave it to us.

Allah, the Exalted, says:

"And no moving (living) creature is there on earth but its provision is due from Allah.''

Moulana Yunus Patel saheb used to read the Munaajaat of Khwaja Majzoob saheb . In fact in Khanqah he would be requested to recite it.

The opening two verses strike the point home from the start.

Majal hai kuch bhi kar sakun mein jo Tu na tawfeeq eh Khuda de
Teri mashiy’at hai sab peh ghaalib ke heech hain sab mere iraadai

What possibility is there for me to do anything if You do not give me the ability, Oh Lord?
Your will overpowers everything; all the plans I make are insignificant
