Default A previous intersex who had gender corrective surgery
Assalamu Alaykuma

الايكوما السلام

I was born with ambigious genital and raised as a boy. My breasts began to grow at about 14 and after diagnosis I am found should be a girl with XX chromosome and the female organs inside the body. Upon the recommendation and advice of doctors and Ulama, my parents decided to let me have the gender correction surgery to correct my gender to the one which the Allah originally intends me to be. I had the surgery at 17.

I have counselling both before and after the surgery. However, nearly one year after the surgery, I am not adapted to and comfortable with the new gender role and life.

I am somewhat regret of having the surgery and always think that whether I must have the surgery or not and whether it was correct decision of having the surgery. Please help me.

How can I better adapt to the change?

كيف يمكن أنا أفضل على التكيف مع التغيير؟
