Not sure where to put such a thing but help me mods if this is the wrong section for such a post.
As-salam' alaikum peeps My name is Devon and I just wanted to say hello and let everyone know they have a new guest here. I find it very inappropriate for people to appear and post in forums without introducing themselves and saying hello. I know I broke that personal rule but I couldn't find a section to post this so I am going out on a limb (most likely a leg ![]() I am an ex Muslim for a little over 5 months as of now and am just trying to get engaged in Islam again. It has been hard but I am trying to put some effort in this. ...Have a splendid day peeps |

I know I seem like one but I am not May Allah Ta’ala open your heart, once more, to the beauty of Islam, and fill your heart with its love. May Allah Ta’ala grant us all such deep love for Him, for His Rasul (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) and for this beautiful Deen of Islam, that we willingly expend our energies in His obedience, in following in the footsteps of His Beloved (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam), in the service of His Deen and in striving in His Path, for His Pleasure and His Pleasure alone. |

ASWW ![]() What is this world coming to! If people stopped liking cute bunny rabbits then surely the apocalypse is near. Bunnies make everything better, no matter how depressed I can be or miserable the image of a kitten or bunny rabbit makes me better, a sign of optimism for me personally. Cuteness is an art and a difficult one at that, so no person can tell me a god does not exist if something as adorable as a rabbit exist also. Art, beauty, and god go hand in hand because we know they exist but we are incapable of describing or rationalizing our desire for them. I don't mean for that to be blasphemous but if you cannot appreciate the creation then you surely cannot appreciate the creator. You cannot value god if you cannot value what he has designed with such immaculate detail, I often find it hard to believe that something as perfect and simple as a circle actually exist in such a chaotic world. But even what we call "chaos" is nothing more than precision and perfection at work performing in a complexity we cannot fathom. You're an ex-Muslim? My own deistical perception (which I had before reciting my Sha'hada) never fit Islam to begin with but I was very convinced of the Abrahamic faith I would not accept the fact my views fit more into Left Hand paths of Hinduism and Buddhism. So after awhile I just moved away and stayed in "limbo" being a "semi Hindu/Buddhist". I never converted though as I am no fan of organized religion and I am just an eclectic (I take from various theologies often). I never renounced Islam or removed it from my heart either, I have thought about it daily. As much as I love Islam and its beauty I cannot conform to it fully as it will not agree with me personally. I can get up and be a devout Muslim this instant but it does not mean I will accept everything in the Qur'an or the Al-Sihah al-Sit'tah Hadith collection. I have no hatred for Islam at all, I personally enjoyed it and am quite fond of my experiences trying to be a good Muslim (and trust me I tried hard). My understanding of god just differed and that was it basically. But I am going to try and stick around and get involved before I give up on Islam all together, so please try to help me get back into Islam if you can convince me. One thing about me is that I am open to opinions and debates, I am no close minded fool so if you have something to say know that it is not falling on deaf ears ![]() |

As much as I love Islam and its beauty I cannot conform to it fully as it will not agree with me personally. conforming fully is a slow process bro...I am not sure if anyone here can say he/she conforms "fully"...we just keep trying to imbibe the beautiful facets of islam and its principles into every part of our daily lives. We succeed sometimes we fail at other times, however, the intention is to someday be able to follow it 100%..
Nevertheless, we dont REJECT anything - even if we arent able to follow something - and ascribe the non-conformance, honestly to our own weakness and stubborn "self (lower one)" in not being able to follow...because there are scores of other people who are doing a great job of conforming with it and are leading such pristine, principled, caring and worthy lives. We too (almost everyone I would say and that's what makes islam such an attractive challenge as well) have states where our insides resist conforming to islam's directions, and we just slug it out to get there...and believe me 10 out of 10 times, the end result of having finally conformed to some principle of islam is a feeling of utmost gratification, happiness, peace and security... after all, personal opinions, outlooks and conformity are just a small part of the story...there are issues like existence of the Creator; His will; the purpose of the Universe and our own lives; death - and the concepts about it; the hereafter; the prophets' existence and their message; true gratification in this life.... which all make it too real and indispensable to brush it off or be in blissful ignorance or even admire it from a distance... sincerely hope that Allah swt leads you to His love and everlasting success and happiness i.e. Islam....for He (swt) is the actual Haadi - The Guide...hope the wonderful brothers and sisters on this will be of help to you... |

(p.s as for the bunnies: its a rule here that animated pics not allowed. the moderators including myself take that opinion of islamic jurisprudence. others may not do so however. but its still the forum rules. nothing personal. take that from someone who was recently banned : p) |

jazaakAllahu khaira,,,please change the title of the thread to something that draws attention if you want to have more people contribute...a lot of people might not think anything worthy of attentionis being discussed with the current title...though I hate calling you that from the bottom of my heart and I feel you have unnecessarily or prematurely rushed yourself into calling that...you can add the "Ex-Muslim" word on the topic only to get more people visit the thread and contribute... salaam devon, Peace out brother, rock on, hang ten, chillax and all that good stuff ![]() |

I'll change the topic though and edit the original post though if you think it is necessary. I believe a lot of people would visit the thread that way and your chances of getting meaningful viewpoints will increase...if and when you are looking for some genuine discussions and contributions on the matter... |

Just to add, on later thoughts...if you dont intend to draw attention or risk some potential uneasy replies... its a nice option to just keep visiting the forum and observing, participating in various discussion and it will be of immense resourcefulness as well!!!
adding that statement in the title has its cons also, you can understand.... I'll pray for you, my brother! innee uhibbuka fillah (love you for the sake of Allah)..! |

I never renounced Islam or removed it from my heart either, I have thought about it daily. As much as I love Islam and its beauty I cannot conform to it fully as it will not agree with me personally. Narated By Anas : The Prophet said, "Whoever said "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of a barley grain will be taken out of Hell. And whoever said: "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of a wheat grain will be taken out of Hell. And whoever said, "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of an atom will be taken out of Hell." Why I haven't taken Shahada http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/showthread.php?91056 Additionally, just as the creator of that thread did, you can put many of your questions forth to the scholars and moderators on this forum in the Sensitive Q&A forum. Please make use of these resources. May God guide you back to the straight and narrow righteous path. |
