Hey Birdman. How about you post those pics of you skidiving?
Oh and don't forget to add the surfer one for the girls, will ya? ![]() Edited to add the following: Posting these pics for Birdman, since he was having a bit of trouble on his end. Mark~ I think it was because the 3rd pic was 258 K...it was too large. I reduced it down to 42 K. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

This is a classic example of a sloppy pack job, and the failure to check your equipment before you get to the door.
You'll notice that the guy that this happened to is an arial cameraman. He jumps for a living, and photographs others jumping. Complacency The pilot chute (drag chute) is not properly secured. The guy turns and bumps it on the door. The function of this drag chute is to pull the main parachute out of your backpack. On a BOC parachute, you actually pull it out and throw it into the wind to open your chute. In this case, the bump on the door knocked it loose, and then the wind from the door took it. It did his job and opened the main. Problem is, the guy is still standing inside the airplane when that happened. (AND OUT THE DOOR HE WENT!) Problem #2. The main parachute then wrapped around the tail. So now he is essentially being dragged by the plane and slamming into the side of the aircraft. And, oh yeah, the elevators that control the up and down movement of the airplane no longer work because the main jammed them. He eventually cut away and pulled his reserve. If this is the incident I read about, the pilot had to crash land the aircraft cus he only had partial control due to the tangled main on the tail. (That will put spots on your cockpit seats!) Glad it wasn't me! |

Oh wow! Those videos were awesome!!!
![]() I loved them all, including the Windtunnel trailer, which I saved to my HD. Loved the music they picked too. They did a great job! These are two of my favorite ones: http://www.bird-man.com/index.php?n=ghostrider http://www.bird-man.com/index.php?n=skyflying Birdman~ Which one is your most favorite? |

The cinco de mayo one was great.
The Hercules Boogie was pretty fun. (I'd do either one of those!) The Fastest motherfkers in the valley... Well, I don't know if they were the fastest, but they sure as hell are the craziest! Not on a bet! (If you read the liner notes on this one, "we figured the chances of survival were about 50-50. But cheating death is the real thill of base jumping... ) Uuuhhh, no. Not me! But it's amazing to watch. The first guy doesn't pull until he gets down to around 300 feet. The degree of skill it takes to do something like that (and not die!) is absolutely off the scale! I've seen videos of really skilled freeflyers, who then get in the birdman suit, and do airplane style aerobatic routines all over the sky... THAT KIND OF STUFF FLOATS MY BOAT! |

I would much rather do the skydiving from a plane. ![]() |

You wanna see some wild stuff? Check out the video section of this site. (Media, video library)
These guys know what they are doing. This is what it's like to fly without an airplane! "Only a skydiver truly understands why the birds sing!" http://www.bird-man.com/ |
