I've seen a lot of threads about metal on here, so I think it's about time to lay our cards down.

Who's the greatest metal band of all time? Feel free to list your favorite release by them

I hate to be predictable, but Metallica gets my vote. Can't stand their late stuff, but their eighties releases are enough, IMO. Master of Puppets is a masterpiece.

Exhorder is my runner-up. It's too bad they didn't put out more stuff. Slaughter in the Vatican ruled. They created groove metal.

Im gonna go with Black Sabbath. Always thought Paranoid was their best album. I know it ranks in the top 5 of metal albums.

always been a Metallica fan..well anything older than ...And Justice For All works for me. the newer stuff is good but not as raw as the older stuff. Master Of Puppets is by far their best album to date.

Tool.

I also like a little bit of Slipknot, but I wouldn't say they're up there with the greats.

My friend Bobby got me into Tool a bit, and I don't know if you could really place them under metal for some of their songs but I really like Nine Inch Nails, David got me into them
