I confidently predict that a USA team will win the World series, seeing they are the only country that enter it. |

this is the same thing Major League Baseball has heard for years now. I too, believe that there should be a real world series, but the damn baseball season is indeed too long (162 games) and it would be nice to see some of this type of competition also the ballplayers union wouldn't go for it so... |

One country does not just play in the MLB lol Your post is just silly but I agree that a USA team will win. The Phillies ![]() and I also agree that it may not be a WHOLE World thing but thats what the MLB calls it so thats what we go with |

Also, if the Toronto Blue Jays were any good, they could win the World Series... in fact they have before. Additionally, the World Series is watched all around the world, with the most international views living predominantly in Latin America. |

MLB is the premier baseball league in the world... so calling it the World Series isn't a stretch. Same goes for the NFL and the Super Bowl in regards to football. ![]() |

let the london monarchs into the NFL and within 5 years they'll win it ![]() ![]() Please tell me you aren't serious. Granted, the NFL has a decent degree of parity involved, but still. The prospect of an expansion team in the NFL winning the Super Bowl within 5 years is laughable at best. You have to have the right mix of a good to great coaching staff, 2-3 star players on either side of the ball, and a General Manager that knows what the hell he's doing to surround his stars with the right pieces. Then consider this. Peyton Manning has probably been the best player in the NFL for a good long while now. He's had stars around him on offense, the Colts have had a decent to good defense, and yet they've been to the Super Bowl twice with him, and won it once. You also have to get relatively lucky during the playoffs... hope that you don't have to play a team that has the pieces to negate your strengths. Hope that your team is going to come together as a cohesive unit when needed. Hope that the other team isn't going to be as organized as you. Then hope you can put that all together for 3-4 straight games. I won't argue that the Monarchs could be competitive within 5 years. But competitive is a far stretch from winning the Super Bowl in that time frame. |

As far as my predictions go...
NL West Giants NL Central Cubs NL East Phillies NL Wild Card Dodgers AL West A's AL Central Twins AL East Red Sox AL Wild Card Rays NL Champions Cubs AL Champions A's World Series Champions Cubs Yes, the Cubs are a homer pick on my part. But at the same time, I think our pitching staff has the potential to be top 3 in the National League this year, and our offense should be worlds better this year than we were last year with Ramirez looking better than he has in a few years, Pena looking good working with our Jaramillo, and the emergence of Tyler Colvin last year. Starlin Castro will be an All-Star this year and batting title contender; Garza and Zambrano will both be in the running for Cy Young, and Marmol is going to set a new Cubs record for saves, and further prove that he's the most dominating closer in the game. ![]() |
