He's really been about the only compelling story of these Olympics so far as well.

Perhaps in a day or two that'll change if 41 year old Dara Torres wins gold.

No, I've watched a little bit of it.

I think the ending of the overall competition was really good, especially how Shawn Johnson won the silver, but I don't think its been a great story otherwise, unless you like everyone falling, not planting their feet, and just plain fucking up their routines.

For who? What?

I haven't watched the entire Olympics, espeically since the start of it I was on vacation.

So tell me what you're getting at, and I'll let you know if I saw it.

I hope he gets the 8 gold medals. It's about the only thing I'm looking for in the Olympics.

Anyone else disappointed at the clip of the National Anthem during Phelps' gold medal ceremony? What's up with just a clip of it rather than the whole anthem?

I can't say what this is towards speciaically, but I'd rather see American athletes perfrom over the anthem, if it comes to that.... not that it does either.

Well it's not just our anthem, but for all anthems. Sure the performance of athletes is as equally important, but standing on the podium hearing your anthem has got to give you chills. So why not play the whole anthem to honor the winner?

That's all I'm saying.

I can't say I'm sure of the clip and the events you have seen. I've seen the Sabre results and outside of that not much else was podium worhty, so..., though I'd rather see the action.
