Default Not My Dog, A Mistake
Awoke from my nap, and played the answering machine. "This is the Animal Shelter, we have a dog in custody, the tags are registered to you, call us ASAP".
My heart drops, as I am calling our 4 legged crew,
"Lola! Bruizer! Joker!" Bruizer, check, Joker, check, ...
EEErrrrr....
"Lola! Come, Lola!" Finally she peeks up, from behind the sofa. I play the message again, ".....tags". Crap!
Did someone find one of our tags, and put it on their dog? EEEEEeeeerrrrrr.......
I check on the key ring for Lola's, yep, they're there. (She's our "collar escape artist" or "tag escape artist", we take her tags with us, for walks, etc. (have her info. stamped into her collar). Bruizer and Joker have theirs on.
I call my hubby, he works close to the shelter.
I explain, he calls them. They give him a mini interrogation. He finally tells them, "Our dogs are at home, with their tags, with my wife, period!".
Then he has to pull a 'name drop' tactic to finally get them to stop, and analyze.
Husband questions, "what tag, for what dog kind of dog there?".
The AS responds, "Joker, a pit bull.....(pause)......oh, the number may have been entered wrong.........sorry, thank you".
LOL!! I am thinking the dog in custody must have NOT looked like a pit bull, even by their definition.
IDK, I think it is funny, imagining what the AS person was thinking.

What a pain.. but yeah, kinda funny.

Luckily, several of the workers at the AS here knows my dogs so that wouldn't happen here.
(One gal does agility with me, we got Frankie there, and I'm FB 'friends' with the shelter, and the shelter manager.)

I did freak out for a couple minutes. Bruizer once jumped on the screen door, popped it open, he took off like a fly off a swatter...lol . I was so upset. We chased him down. Since then, we lock the screen door.
Today, I was looking around the house, as I was calling for them, thinking "how in H#ll did one get out?". SOOOO relieved they did not.
If my husband wasn't in LE, I believe they would've maybe requested we prove, that the dogs were all home.
He normally doesn't state his profession, but today was one of the exceptions.
LOL, we can laugh now, that's good for us.

SamThePitbull ~ The tag was entered incorrectly in the Animal Shelter computer, they called us by mistake. Someone punched in a wrong number or two when reading it off the dog tag.
Thank you all, I am soooo happy it wasn't one of our dogs. Hope they found the owner of the lost pup.
