Default UGH. Puppy Fever
Just one more year. Just one more year til I graduate, settle somewhere and hopefully move from an apartment to a house with a yard. I told myself that only when I got a yard would I even think about getting another dog.

BUTOHMYGOODNESS. LOOK AT HIS FACE!

Just thought I'd share. Anyone else with puppy fever?

Oh help me.

Oh don't even get me started. I want a puppy so bad. But now is not the time for several reasons. Not to mention our landlord only allows one dog.

The nice thing about puppy fever though, it generally passes. Honestly I start to think about how much less time and attention my current dog would get for awhile during training of a puppy and that deters me. And I also think about all the pooping and the peeing, and the whining and the chewing....that comes with those cute little soft fat puppy wuppies.

I want a puppy (As you can see Its getting harder to talk myself out of it, lol. Its best I live somewhere where we can only have 1 dog)

I have to stay off petfinder these days

Haha I feel like it makes me feel better to drag others to my level. I would just like someone I know to adopt him, then cryogenically freeze him, and then I can have him next year.

Well its not puppy fever but I came across this dog online and I'd love to take him. (He has a lot of allergies though and may need lifelong injections.) I don't know why I'm drawn to him but I am.

This is Apache:
Petfinder Adoptable Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Fultondale, AL | Apache

And this sweet pup is up for adoption but she is in Animal Control...So she needs to be adopted fast.
Petfinder Adoptable Dog | Weimaraner | Nashville, TN | LIBBY

And then this girl is stunning:
Petfinder Adoptable Dog | Labrador Retriever | Chattanooga, TN | Ghost

Hopefully all 3 will find homes soon

Haha! I think significant others can be fuel to the fire sometimes.

I showed the first dog to my boyfriend and all he said was "What do we have to do to get him" haha

When we got our first dog together...I was not ready. We had just had to rehome our cat. (Was not meant to be a house cat....still feel bad about rehoming him but he has been much happier on the farm) Anyways my husband was like a little kid wanting a dog. So I gave in and we went to look at this poodle puppy. It was like love at first sight for my husband, and I knew that puppy was coming home with us. Trouble was a really great dog though, I hate that his time on this earth was so short. But he did a lot of living and taught us so much. He really taught us what it meant to be a parent. He taught us how to put someone or something else's needs before our own. I'm greatful for every day I had with that dog. And I miss him greatly. We are coming up on the 2nd anniversary of his passing and it still seems unreal. He is still very much alive with us, not a day goes by that we don't speak of him and talk about good times we had with him. Our daughter was too young when he passed to remember him, but she even seems to know him, I guess through our stories.

But Anyways...

When we got Sasha though I was the culprit. I wanted a female and I wanted a dog that was more laid back. I started sending him pictures of her through email. I left the petfinder page up on the computer. Finally a week later my husband is like, okay lets call about her. She came home 2 days before my birthday. Best birthday gift ever.

Now I don't condone giving pets as a gifts, but this was a mutual decision that I was in on, well I kind put everything in motion.

So yes significant others really can add fuel to the fire when it comes to the whole puppy fever.

I'm convinced that one day, after my kids are grown, and gone, I will live on a big chunk of land (or an island preferably) and will just collect poor pups that are in a bad way. lol Thank goodness the first site you posted from is in Kansas! lol

I'm definitely content with my two right now, and won't be changing that anytime in the next 10 years or so...but sheesh, pictures like that make it a hard commitment!

Really, I have no self control. I would totally have a second dog if my landlord would allow it. But he doesn't. Thankfully. I DO NOT need another dog right now. haha

But then I think, I'm in school now, so I'm home A LOT. I study and do all my work here. So I'm always around. Which would be perfect for a puppy. Because once I move on, I'll be getting a job and won't be home all day to watch a puppy.

But that's just the fever talking...

Would it help cure the fever if I sent you pictures of the wall I had to rebuild during Sema's obnoxious puppy days? Because that cured me of EVER wanting another puppy. I will just enjoy the pictures you all share, but NEVER again for me.

Lol your thing about collecting poor pups just made me laugh it seemed every time i came across a puppy having a bad time i brought it home which is why I have a 11 month old Ambully, 10 month Ambully, 10 week Ambully, 9 week APBT, and 2 8 week chiweenies(wifes) .. plus around once a month we get a foster puppy which helps with the puppy fever a little except when i want to keep them.last month was a 8 week old APBT.. Today we are getting a 5 1/2 week American Bulldog/English Mastiff which will be here until atleast 8 weeks and then we will start to find a new home for it

Its really a good thing that my landlord only allows one dog. But it helps that typically when myself or my husband starts wanting another dog, atleast one of us at the time has some common sense.
