Sorry for your experience! Is this a dog you had an took to the HS for a spay? Or a dog you were getting from the HS? I would never take my dog for any free or reduced price kind of surgery! Especially those that promote a cheaper or free price for PBs. Their only intention, imo, is to get rid or reduce PB's.... ! To say "their ONLY INTENTION IS TO GET RID OF BULLY BREEDS" just sounds, IMO, dumb as hell. and, OF COURSE WE WANT TO FREAKIN REDUCE.. duhhh?? Im sure their purpose for offering such , is not to help ppl who can not afford to get their dog s/n.. but only to rid the breed... lmfao!! What a joke! I have helped start a program at my local vets (One of my fav. Bully rescues inspired me) for FREE/ VERY LOW COST s/n for Bully breeds. Our vets take EQUAL care for the Free/Low cost S/N, just as they do the ones who pay full price. Our goal is to help encourage everyday pet owners of this breed to s/n. so their dogs do not contribute to the over population of mixed breeds, 'oops' litters exc. and also help the ppl who want to s/n but simply can not afford the steep price tag. just like you check your vets to make sure they are a good vet... maybe others who have used that vet... YOU DO THE SAME FOR ANY PLACE THAT YOU WERE TO GET YOUR DOG S/N at. To the OP... Hope your girl is feeling a little better soon... ;/ Sucks a fat one that you/your pup had to go thru such a mess for a s/n. I would recommend that you POLITELY, either write, go in person (or both) and express your concerns about the spay. Tell them that while you are very grateful that they are tryin to help your town out by offering free s/n... That they should still care for the dog as if they were their own dog. Not to rush, and take their time. If you do ONLY write a letter, make sure you ask for a reply. While some might blow something of the sort off, IT DEF CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Feedback can REALLY change the way some ppl think. Even if it makes them a little more careful and thoughtful during the s/n then.. your word has helped someone/something along the line. Im sure she will heal up and be good as new soon!! |
