They are trying to say my pit bull is dangerous

My dog was taken by animal control last Saturday due to him barking at my neighbors dogs in his kennel which is partly in my yard and because one time he followed a man down the street barking at him. he has been collected by the dog catcher 3 time last november and twice this month and they are trying to have him put to sleep he has never bitten ne one nor tried to and it is their word against mind and because his breed is a pit bull no one is on my side!!!

Sounds like you need to contain your dog a bit better...any chance THAT'S why they took him? Cause he keeps getting out and barking at people?

Veveseinlep 05-19-2011 04:21 AM

I hope you get to keep your dog but can't you contain the dog better if you get your dog back?. My girl barks at people to so I have to be careful and have her contained properly.

So, your dog gets loose at least twice a month? To be honest, it may be better for them to take him. Better that then him get shot when he approaches the wrong person. Or hit by a car.

HoniSoniproca 05-19-2011 04:24 AM

Can you get him back? I hope you can get him back so he doesn't get PTS. Just wanted to add that it sux...cause it's not his fault he was running around.

Cerilopasei 05-19-2011 04:26 AM

Sounds like you need to contain your dog. Now wonder why they want to take him.

x2

I doubt you'll get much sympathy here for not doing well by your dog and complaining about it.

Garry Hovard 05-19-2011 04:41 AM

its just common sense what you need to do to solve this problem, use your head

Or even worse, he might bite some kids who pass by one day and start teasing him. Pit bulls don't need anymore negative press. Rehome them or put them to sleep. Since you still have not learned from your mistakes and was given so many chances, I don't think you should get another dog. Just my opinion.

It is not a good experience to be chased by strange dogs down a street. The owner has not been a responsible dog owner, much less a good neighbor.

That's not cool. I'd never wish that on anyone's pet. The dog needs to be HUMANELY euthanized if the the OP can't properly care/contain the dog.

well okay let the little bastard bite some one, then they will be wishing its brains would be laying on the street

Shooting an aggressive animal is different than shooting a dog that's only barking.

did you read what the op said, followed a man walking down the street barking, what does barking lead to biting what would of happen if that man would of threw his arms up and stomped at him. the dog would have prolly thought he was threatening him and prolly would have bit him..... u never know about other peoples dogs unoriginal, think before you speak ull make it farther in life that way!!!!!

anconueys 05-19-2011 05:19 AM

That's exactly what I was going to say.

And to the OP, I am sorry about your dog, but much of what the others have said is true.
