Default In case anyone would like to help...
Last night a dog rescue here in Cincinnati suffered a really tragic loss. The rescue's founder's home burned down.

Her own dogs and cat as well as some of the foster dogs were killed in the fire.

Two dogs survived the fire and are being treated at the emergency vet for smoke inhalation and burns and one dog ran away from the scene.

Anyway, this woman is really great. She organized a program here in Cincinnati to help provide pet food to families in need and she saves and adopts deserving dogs facing euthanasia.

I am going to a benefit/fundraiser type deal on Saturday to try to help out. If anyone here is interested, the link below is a way to help. Not only do the surviving dogs need medical care, but she lost her home so she is in need too.

Here's the link to the facebook page

There is also a "chipin" I think on facebook.

Thanks guys!

Here's another link to the chip in...if any mod wants to give this a better title, i realize my title doesn't help the cause that much

Sorry guys if this thread seems too needy. I wouldn't push it if it weren't so important.

I am honestly heartbroken over this...Shannon does such wonderful work.

Boss is still at the emergency vet. The metal from her cage melted into her skin, she's covered in burns, and she suffered severe smoke inhalation.

A silent auction is being planned to help the rescue and Boss and Leo who are fighting for their lives at the vet.

If anyone has anything they would like to donate, let me know. Doesn't have to be money....just anything that would be good at auction.

Thanks again and please pray for Boss

Prayers for Boss and bumping this.
Thank you! I just saw pictures of the 11 dogs that died and it was hard not to cry.

Good vibes and prayers are appreciated I'm sure just as much as donations...the latest update is:

"Boss was SO excited to see Shannon! She roused and ate 3 jars of baby food!!! They gave her some Valium to calm her because she was over-exerting herself. Leo has contacts on his eyes to help with the damage he sustained to them. We don't know yet how his vision will be affected. KEEP THESE 2 IN YOUR PRAYERS, PLEASE!!!"

They just ran a story on the news and it was heartbreaking. Boss just whimpers and whimpers in pain.

If anyone else has good ideas too of things to do to help, that would also be awesome.

Thanks Krista and Jen!!!!

Sad update...Boss had to be put down. She suffered too much brain damage from the oxygen deprivation in the fire. The neurologist advised that for her sake, she be pts.

Please continue to pray for Leo who remains in the e-vet fighting.

Here's Leo with his last moments with Boss

Olivia, I would be happy to donate a photo to the auction. Check out my flickr photostream: Flickr: lzaichenko's Photostream
and my smugmug page: Lesyas Photography

and let me know if there is a photo you would like to have for auction. I'll have the print shipped to you, you'll just have to frame it.

That would be amazing!!!!! I am on my phone right now but I will check out the link as soon as I am home.

We visited leo, the surviving dog today. He was very tired and in pain but his tail thumped when we pet him

I really appreciate your generosity!
