What do you mean by full rednose APBT? Red nose is just a nose color, just like blue nose, black nose, dudley nose or butterfly nose.
There is however a strain of blood called Old Family Rednose (OFRN). Is what you meant when you were asking if the dog was "pure rednose?" Were you asking if it was pure OFRN? (BTW, keep in mind, OFRN is NOT a color, but a strain of bloodline.) Here is a picture of my dog: ![]() He is a pure Lonzo (Zebo/Vindicator) dog. Hope this helps. ![]() |

I think is's sad and funny when bybs list a litter as "full blooded blue pit bull" or something along those lines. I actually tried to educate one a while back who got real b&*%$y with me over it. I tried to be civil about the matter, but she called be some really nasty names! I guess they just don't give a flip any way any how.

My name is Aaron and today a friend of mine brought me a pitt he found running around. it is about 3 mounths old and has gotten her ears cropped. now the problem....her ears were cropped so much that she barely has an ear and it looks pretty bad. i felt so bad for her and so angry at whoever cropped her ears. what can i do so her ears dont get infected and can she go deaf if the ears are too cropped.

adog:
Some people prefer very short ears. I am one of them. More than likely her ears will not get infected and no she cannot go deaf if her ears are short. Are they this short?> ![]() ---------- Post added at 04:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:03 PM ---------- That is a professional vet crop job BTW! |

I have been reading this thread people saying they have registred red noses..i am thinking to do they mean OFRN blood?Red nose is only a color any strain of blood can produce a rednose because so many diff strains were crossed with the OFRN blood..Man talk about a headache try to get some of this OFRN blood.Yeah rednose doesnt mean OFRN blood for sure.

OP...are you saying that your dog is a "pure bred rednose" or that her nose is red in color?
If your dog's nose is actually red(ish)...then it is genetically impossible for her to have any black hairs on her body...nless she's a merle, which is highly unlikely. Post a pic. When folks say "a rednose dog cannot produce black"...they mean that dog cannot produce black pigment in it's own body, not that it can't produce black nosed pups in a litter. Red colored dogs can have black noses, these are generally called something else, like fawn, depending on breed. Red nosed dogs carry a gene that causes any black pigment on the body to become diluted (same with blue nosed dogs), changing the black to some shade of "red" (or "blue"). Not all reddish colored dogs are dilutes, so not all reddish colored dogs have red noses, but no diluted dog, either blue or red...can produce black pigment in it's own body unless it's dilution is caused by the merle gene...which is a whole different can of worms. |

I always thought red nose is just a nose color, but I was under the impression it originally came from the Wallace bloodline of Old Family Red / Red Nose dogs. Can someone tell me if I am incorrect here? The Wallace Old Family Red Red Nose dogs are not a different breed of course but I did think they were a very distinct bloodline and just assumed that most of the quote red / red nose dogs must have some of this blood in there pedigrees.
I also heard but cannot quote the source that in the old days some felt red dogs were not good in the box until the Wallace family line of dogs proved everyone wrong. Someone please correct me if I don't have this right. Thanks When I look at my dog, it seems he may have some of this as he always looked to me like he has a lot of traits seen in Colby and Wallace dogs although he is a rescue which means only a more knowledgeable dogman than I would be able to make a guess. He could be a total mutt. Opinions welcome. |
