Default I Need Help
I have recently PCSed to Japan and i am having the hardest time getting my baby girl out here. She is a 5 year old pit bull. i have tried all the airlines i have access to in the US and they all have some sort of pit bull ban. Most do not fly pits over 6 months old or over 20 lbs. The weather here is starting to get hot and she will soon not be able to fly on any airline because of the heat. please anyone with any info. she is currently in Georgia staying with family.

If there are breed bans, you'll have a hard, if not impossible, time flying her there. Can she stay with your family until you get back? I'm not sure if the breed is banned in Japan, or if they just refuse to fly her... maybe if you offered to muzzle her for the trip??

Hmmmm... weird. I boarded a dog for a few months and later had it shipped out to Taiwan to her owner. He hired some sort of company that handled the shipping. They even came to my house and picked the dog up when it was time for her to go. They did have to build her a ''vicious dog box'' for the trip, which was stupid as she was a total dork. lol This was out of Canada though...

Also, have you had her rabies titers done? Japan requires titers, and a long waiting period before she can be imported. If you have not already, i would check the Japanese Embassy to get details. You can find their website if you google it.

Or here you go, searched for ya.

Yup. That was the same deal we had to do to get the dog shipped to Taiwan. The dog got titres done, then six months later she was shippable. She had to do a month in quarentine when she got there though.

are you going to be living on base? if so you won't be able to bring her anyways DoD rules breed bans. i know it will be hard but she might be better staying with family til you get home.

i actually have NO idea if there are any airlines left that ship pit bulls now. theyve all changed their policy to no pit bulls. you also have to pay for quarantine.
