Not one person on this forum or any other forum can tell you that your dog is 100% APBT. Whatever it is love it, treat it well, and be a responsible owner. It is impossible to be absolutely sure of a breed of dog by a picture even if the dog in question looks exactly like what you think it is. Hell even if you have papers on the dog there is a possibility that it could be of mixed ancestry one example of that would be the Am Bullies that are registered as APBT's. If I had to guess I would say an APBT mix, but like I said you can't tell by just looking at a picture.

Everyone says a mix but I don't see it. But I'm not an expert. All I know he is 13 months old 60 pounds or so and very strong and I do love him. Already had byb trying to breed him but no worries. The guy who gave him to me last February had him fixed. I don't know why I care so much. He seems to fit the characteristics and looks a lot like pictures i see here. You're right it's not important

I can't see that much lab in him. Oh well. I just say he is a pit bull even if he has a little bit of lab in him

I'm not seeing Lab... Every lab/pit I've met has a medium/short coat.

He is on the larger end of the APBT size.. He LOOKS like an APBT, but there are MANY other bully breed that can be mixed in and still look like an APBT. So, again, no way to be sure without papers, but I think you're safe calling him a pit/mix. Seeing as pit bull stands for APBT, and he just seems a little long/large to be a pure APBT, or a working bred one, I'd just say mix.

He sure is handsome.

I see more lab than anything else in him. My guess would be lab/pit bull. If he isn't all pit bull, and you don't know for sure what he is, why would you call him a pit bull anyways? Just curious.

I see more pit in him. His muscle structure looks like a pit why not call him a pit bull. Or a pit mix. I'm sure he is 50 to 75% pit bull. I only see lab up in his nose and his length but i've seen pit bulls as long as he is

I could see calling him a pit bull mix, but not a pit bull, as he does not look quite all, and no offense, but probably isn't if you have to be on here asking. Is he registered/do you have papers on him? Just asking out of curiosity.

Why would I say mix? He has a pit head body tail and ears. He is slightly long but I know other pits that are that long too. No I don't have papers. I rescued the dog from a guy who lost his job. I didnt think you had to have papers to call a dog a pit bull. And even if he has a mix he isn't any worse than a purebred. He is head strong very well built and has good muscle structure that looks like the pictures of the apbts I see in here. Easier to say pit bull and I'm not calling him a mutt I don't like that term. I see both breeds as excellent breeds and the byb, a homeless dude, did a good job because you couldn't ask for a better and more beautiful dog. He still needs help in obedience but he is still just a pup. I'm not planning to breed or sell him so who cares if his mix doesn't follow the ukc pedigree. That does bring me to a question of why people get arrogant and act like a purebred dog is better than a mixed breed. The dog makes how goodvthe dog is. And all purebred are mixed breeds too so why can't I call him a Pitt but I normally say mix. The reason I asked is that I'm not an expert. It's just most of the labs I see have bigger snouts bigger feet thicker tail and longer hair. It doesn't matter I just wanted to know. Btw the homeless dude abused the poor animal so

Because I want to say I own a pit. I think they are a good breed. I wasn't planning on ever getting a dog. But if I get another one it probably will be from a shelter. I guess I should research labs too I've been researching a lot about the apbt

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with having a mix, but if he is not purebred, don't call him one. Pit bull and pit bull mix aren't that much different from each other for saying. I've had mixed breed dogs before and had no problems calling them what they were. Mixed breed or purebred, a good dog is a good dog. All that matters is that you love the dog and care for it, regardless of what it is. But I'm just saying, if you don't know that the dog is all pit bull, why call it one? Do you want to confuse more people as to what a "pit bull" is. Most people already don't know. If you don't know the dog's true lineage, and you are having multiple people, even those actually knowledgeable about APBTs say he looks mixed, then what is wrong with calling him it? I don't go around with my mom's whippet/lab mix saying he's purebred whippet or lab, I call him what he is. Nothing wrong with him, he's a great dog, sweet, loves to fetch, just not the brightest thing in the world, but he's awesome. There is nothing wrong with mixed breed dogs, but if you have one, just call it what it is, unless for some reason you are ashamed of it, or think they are inferior for some reason...

I would call him a mix since he doesn't have a pedigree. There's nothing wrong with rescuing a dog, but since you don't have papers just call him a mix and just enjoy him.

I don't think he is inferior I just get that idea from some people who get a little snobby. I was beginning to think he was purebred but he is longer and taller than thevspecs but he isn't wide like my boss's pitbulls. Who r almost as high as he is and as long. They claim they are purebred but maybe they're bot. Anyway I still got some work to do with him he got a little agressive at petco today even lunged forward with a growl at a kid. Man he was getting better. He was just scared

I don't see where anyone stated that your dog was inferior..seems to me like you just have a problem with possibly owning a dog of mixed blood..Seems to me like you want to call it an APBT because that suits you or makes you feel better about the dog you have chosen to own. I fail to see where anyone was as you say "snobby". It doesn't matter if he is or not, call him a "pit bull mix" it would be a more correct term for him. Being long bodied or tall has no bearing on what breed he is. I don't understand why it matters so much now, as you didn't care when you got him. Why even bother asking folks for their opinion if you can't handle anything that differs from your own. Just to let you know any dog that "lunged" at a child gets all the help they need in the form of a bullet. I do not, and will never tolerate that kind of behavior....it is also another nail in the coffin of this breed by allowing a dog such as that to continue living. "He was getting better"? Sure doesn't seem that way....as far as being scared, NO stable dog should be scared of a child. There are plenty of dogs worth feeding out there, this is not one of them.

Yes he is. I wasn't refereingvto people on this site as being snobby it was at other sites. I don't care of he's mixed. The dog was abused and has gotten a lot better. He wasn't scared of the kid he was scared of being at petco. He normally just wants to play and lick your face including kids.

Thanks for all your input. I don't think he is inferior to purebred. I fell in love with him and that is all that matters
