Why do people insist on trying to get your dog to kiss them and thinking that your dog loves them?

I had a few people over tonight, and i sat on the ground and as always Jewelz licks me to death and lays next to me.
This guy kept trying and trying and trying to get her to give him kisses and to play with him and she wasn't having it. I told him to just leave her be, she wasn't having it..

Does anyone ever have to deal with people like this??
