Just flipped this on. I haven't seen this kind of show in a long time. In general I think shows like this are B.S.

However I have experienced firsthand one great "psychic pet" thing: On one of the worst nights of my life, my dog had run off in a blizzard and after searching for hours my friend, a WICCAN, called another friend who was known to have animal psychic powers. This lady did some kind of ceremony with candles and herbs, and then called and said my dog was scared but safe and warm. And, in the morning when the shelter opened my dog was there; some kind neighbors had brought her in.

Sure it could have been a total coincidence looking back, but it was pretty dang cool.

LOL we are all talking about tv shows tonight! It is too cold to do anything else but play with our doggies, snuggle, watch tv and post on the forum. I caught a tidbit of it, I have animal planet playing in the other room. I think the best thing to go on is that this lady reads energy. Dogs read energy very well and that is why so many dogs are messed up! People generally have bad energy of some sort. But if you are talking about whether this woman can read a dogs mind and turn dog thoughts into human words... NO. She is just using common sense.

I thought this might be Sonya Fitzpatrick; I had to google to be sure.

I've only seen her show once or twice as I recall; but I had read her book...just out of curiosity.

Now let me preface this by saying that generally speaking I am a fairly rational, reasonable person...I think. I have a tendency to want things proven to me; which unfortunately has left me an agnostic. There are lots of things I would like to believe but I guess I just lack faith.

That said; I feel the same way about Sonya...but I did have a telephone reading from her about 4 years ago. We had just lost our Basset Hound after 14 years and I was distraught. I'm sure it didn't help losing my Dad one year prior.

I had a 30 minute phone session with Sonya and paid an ungodly amount of grief stricken money for it. As I recall the only information Sonya asked for was a picture of the dog, name, age and what you wanted to know. I just wanted to know...whatever Fran had to say. I recorded the session so I would remember it.

I was impressed with what she told me and I have been wracking my brain ever since to figure out how she knew some of what she knew. What stands out is that she knew Fran had a favorite blue blanket (OK lucky guess), but she knew about Fran's medical issues...she knew she had kidney problems. I went so far as to call my vets to ask if someone other than me called would they get my vet records...they said no. Then again, how would she know who my vets were...call everyone in the vicinity. I think she did have my address.

Sonya also brought up my dad and said he wanted to talk with me. She mentioned the fact that I had a brother (half actually) that I was distanced from. (Weird family dynamic, at the time I had never even talked to my brother and no one acknowledged he existed. My father mentioned him to me exactly once). So I wonder how hard/easy for her was it to find out this stuff.

Another thing which stood out; was she talked about my parent's relationship...the quality of that relationship...and she was dead on. She had my mother's personality nailed perfectly. Even if she took half of what I paid her and did a background check on me; that isn't something that is written down...anywhere. And being skeptical I made sure I didn't provide her with any information.

So what do I think? I have no idea, but it was plenty freaky.

I think thats pretty impressive. About the blanket and such, I have always wanted to try something like that out. She could be, im an open minded person. I dont see how word would have gone around that people were hiring for a pet psychic to be on tv, or if she showed up and said 'I can read animals minds, lets make a show.' I dont know! lol. but yea thats pretty remarkable.

I have had a couple experiences with ''pshyics'' and I have no doubt some people have this ''talent'', although I'm sure there are way more fakes than not. This one guy... seriously.... he looked RIGHT AT ME and said something to me NOBODY knows. Freaked me right out. Having that ''psychic'' gift runs in our family, and not only have I had a few experiences myself that have inspired me to ''trust my gut'', my sister is also very ''senstive'' and have had some very interesting scenarios occur which scared the shit out of her. Don't know about this particular person though...

I think there are some people who may have.. Senses? others don't. But I think a lot of it is bull... Especially the animal ones. How is the dog speaking english to her? Or the cat? She gives specific phrases and words the animals use. I am not expert on these matters, though, and for the most part will stay out of it.

I think there is "something" to pet psychics, although they definately play off of what you say as well. I had a "reading" from one locally, I brought pictures of our 2 dogs (one recently adopted) & of our birds. Her first response when holding her hands over Kaylee's picture, was who was the dark dog that died. That freaked me out as we had lost all 3 of our boxers the previous year within a 4 month span. Our female, the 1st to pass, was dark brindle, & my husband had to have her put down while I was away, it was very difficult for him to do, & the psychic said Kaylee was there to help him thru that. She also saw our male being protective of a blanket, he doesn't have a blanket, but at that time slept in bed w us & kaylee was not allowed on the bed. It was interesting, I still would like her to come to our house for a reading & see what else she would have to say.

If I could have a session for free, heck why not, I could get a laugh out of it or have something to ponder, but I would never pay a buttload for something like that. The cash would be better spent on bills and making the lives of your living dogs better...

I agree, I used to know this guy, he never claimed to be psychic but he was very spiritual. He knew a lot about natural healing and I was asking him about reflexology and he started telling me about it and then he told me not to have it done because I was pregnant and that it was dangerous in the early stages of pregnancy....well that was news to me! Turned out I was pregnant about 3 weeks along.

I was watching the pet psychic years ago and I remember getting tickled because she was saying that the dog was telling her that it loved french fries. I remember thinking don't all dogs love french fries?

I saw ONE episode where she was "talking" to a bull gator. Too bad reptiles don't have the capacity to reason, as in the part of the mammal brain that allows for things like reason and emotion doesn't exist in reptiles. I never watched it again. Too absurd.

I would do it for shiz and giggles and I do raise my eyebrows at some of the coincidences I know about, but no I don't think they are reading the animals minds or thoughts.
So many things are just common sense I think.
