Default Stray black/tan tabby, Elkins Park
I live near the intersection of Waring and Cedar Roads in Elkins Park. For two or three weeks I've had a black and tan tabby cat I think is occupying the garage of the property where I live. I'm coming upon the cat daily, startling it when I come outside or arrive home. The cat looks too healthy and robust to be feral. It's got a glossy, healthy coat and it doesn't look scrawny or underfed. It has been running away when I approach, and usually runs into the garage. When I call to it, it also runs, but it will meow at me briefly. I'm not going to attempt to pet it or catch it on the chance that it hasn't had rabies shots. But over the past few days I've been building a relationship of trust with it. I've been getting gradually closer to it, and today, when I came upon it resting just outside the garage, I took about a half hour of slowly approaching, and got about seven feet away from it. The cat doesn't have a collar and it doesn't appear sick or injured in any way. In fact, it's got quick reflexes. If anyone living in the vicinity recognizes this as a missing family cat, PM me.
