Apparently Essendon (my team) suffers winter blues, hasn't won a match in June since 2007 (or something like that). Two weeks ago I though they were certain top four side, but after surrendering against bottom side Melbourne and losing to Sydney, I wonder.

Finally the next two weekends will provide the test of where the Eagles are really at. Carlton and then Collingwood. Despite their current form, Carlton still boast a decent line up and won't be a push-over. Still I think the Eagles will need to smash them to get some confidence going in against Collingwood.

Really getting the feeling that on any given day Collingwood, Eagles, Essendon, Sydney, Hawthorn, Geelong or Adelaide could come home with it.

Some close games this week, was great to watch for the most part, except for the poor kicking.

I don't think the Eagles put Carlton away decisively enough to be likely to account for Collingwood in Melbourne. Still, a man can dream.

Hawthorn's form is devastating and I think they'll be favourites again in a few weeks, but they are still too inconsistent to be considered almost a sure thing.

Collingwood dished up some pretty ordinary stuff in their last outing too... should be a good game [providing, ofcourse, wce loses]. Perhaps a dress rehearsal for the decider?

Hawthorn need to turn it on against a good team before they get the favouritism back...

Marc Murphy was the big one, and I believe Jarrad Waite was still out. But they had Carrazzo and Scotland back. Which was just as well because Judd was awful.

Well there goes the in-form midfielder and a forward target

I was hoping Gold Coast could, because I tipped them and I'm not fond of North Melb really. More to the point, I'm not fond of the Scott bros. But I was hoping Richmond would pummel them because my son loves Richmond and he gets really excited when they make a big score.

How you can dislike West Coast more than Collingwood is a mystery to me. I hope it will be a dress rehearsal, but I dare say the Eagles will struggle to match the Pies in the GF if it gets that far.

Yes, but I think they may have been played into form now. They play Collingwood again in Round 17. Should be a great match.

The Eagles were also without their best forward target (Kennedy) and their most in form back/midfielder (Waters) so it's not really an excuse for either side. It's a good test of depth. Carlton apparently have very little judging by the last few weeks.

I think my feelings about wce are on the record here, in this thread, somewhere. But a brief recap would be to state that I love to see them lose to everybody...

Going to make the big calls now and see how it pans out at pointy end of season. The GF should be between two teams currently in top 4 (Cats or Bombers could squeeze in).

Adelaide will still finish top 4 at end of home and away.

I still reckon one team from the top four won't make it to the second last weekend of the season - that spot will go to 5 or 6...

Also, I don't want to be seen as wce bashing - as, afterall, they are top and mus t be doing something right - but how in the world did Darling get away without charge? Getting tackled around the middle but still throwing the head back - feigning a high tackle - is the very definition of staging. That MRP is just a random number generator...

But then again, I don't know how Franklin got away with his sling tackle last week [or whenever it was] too...

So, Walker does a dangerous tackle with the potential to seriously hurt some one, yet no one was actually hurt, and gets three weeks. But, Franklin did a dangerous tackle with the potential to seriously hurt someone, yet gets off, because no one was actually hurt...

After tonight I have no respect for Chris Judd.

What a coward. Grabbing and twisting the arm of a player on the ground who was pinned at the bottom of the pack. Looks like he hurt the bloke's shoulder.

I only started watching the game late: So that's why they were booing him? Commentators never explained that...

While a NM player had been tackled to the ground face down with his other arm pinned, Judd grabbed his free arm and pulled it behind him hurting his shoulder. It was pretty low and I hope he gets a couple of weeks for it.

Seems when he gets reported it usually is for something pretty low...

Given Wellingham only got three weeks, he'll get one week for doing something stupid.

There should be a royal commission into the MRP...
