And how do you work out how many atoms are in each chemical compound?

The Atomic Mass and Molecular count are two different things.

For atomic mass you need to know the mass for each molecule of whatever component you are looking at, then it is the sum of all of the molecules of that component.....Clear as mud?

If you can read a Periodic Table Of Elements, or have access to one, it makes this talk easier.

Not the Atomic Number....The Atomic Mass...lol

Anyhoo if you had 2 molecules of Carbon, the combined atomic mass would be

2X12.0107amu (atomic mass units)

Um ok. Told you I am useless at Science. Does the periodic table have the atomic mass on it?

It also has 6 protons and electrons which is why it has the atomic number 6.

Making sense?

I think my table is a very simple table as it only has the group number, Atomic number, Atomic symbol and name of element

That is a matter of interpretation.

So most important according to me? Or the community as a whole?
