ultraviolet radiation/rays are a form of intense energy. this energy is greater than that of the energy bonding the three oxygen molecules together (which, on a minuscule scale, is extremely high). suffice to say, more energy equates to more space between the molecules, and thus even more uv rays incite more riots between the molecules, and sooner or later, they call it quits, and two O3 molecules form three 02 molecules.
