So what exactly do the UV rays do to harm the ozone?

ultraviolet radiation/rays are a form of intense energy. this energy is greater than that of the energy bonding the three oxygen molecules together (which, on a minuscule scale, is extremely high). suffice to say, more energy equates to more space between the molecules, and thus even more uv rays incite more riots between the molecules, and sooner or later, they call it quits, and two O3 molecules form three 02 molecules.

or so what i know or can imagine that happens....

Correct. It is also the way that Ozone can be made, along with intense electrical energy.

After a lightning strike, that pungent "Fabreeze" smell is a direct effect of the creation of Ozone.

Now that that has been discussed, let's move on to the effect of the Ozone layer "holes".

What are some facts about the effects on us, bodies of water and weather?

Here is a visual explaination of the breakdown of Ozone by the use of CFC's.
