Default We should have a separate worshipping room in our houses!

How bad it is that hindus/christians whose religion is not at all true but their believe is so much strong that they don't want their idols to be in front of all, they don't want to worship in front of all but they want separate room for their worshipping. If being a false religion, they can make their own worshipping room then why don't we should worship our lord of the aalameeen Allah in separate worshipping room? If someone has then its good if not, then we should think about that.

This is true and is a good point and I wanted to write about this but did not because I did not want to hear the salawaat. I am very happy you mentioned it and hopefully people will wake up to this thing and implement it. Jazakallah for this.

....I disagree brother, Allah made planet earth as a masjid for us.....Huzoor taught us to pray and recite quran in homes so that they do not become graveyard, we should pray in every part of the house so all of it gets the barakah of zikr....The place where the momin prostrates will bear witness on the day of judgement ....the more such places the better...Comparison with hindus is not relevant because they worship idols that are physical objects and need to be kept someplace....We worship Allah and we should do that everywhere, not allocating a separate room for it....People who have separte rooms for prayer usually do so beacuse they have photographs hanging in other parts of the house according to what I have seen...Allah knows best

we should pray in front of other people, there is no harm in that, rather it is better...(If one does not do this to show off)

The first thing you will hear is daleel, what is the daleel for this and who did and how did they do it so if you mention such things on here just be ready to back it up with Quran and Hadith. First collect all relevant Quran and Hadith and then mention it here.

‘Āisha (radiya allahu 'anha) said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) instructed us to build mosques in our places of residence, and that they be cleaned and perfumed.’

-Mundhirī said: ‘It was related by Aḥmad and Tirmidhī (who declared it rigorously authentic), and by Abū Dāwūd and ibn Mājah.'

Samra ibn Jandab said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) instructed us to make mosques in our homes, and instructed us to clean them.’

-Narrated by Aḥmad and Tirmidhī, who declared it rigorously authentic. (Al-Targhīb)

So the Prophet (salla Allah alayhi wa sallam) enjoined the maintenance of the cleanliness of mosques both public and private, that is those mosques that are built in houses as a place to offer supererogatory and night prayers, and to worship Allah therein, which is a desired Sunnah according to the scholars.

Hazrath.

My intention for making this thread is different brother. You didn't get me. You just think how much lonliness and sukoon-e-qalb you will get in all masajids. Why it is so? Because all will come to worship. They recite words of allah Swt, they send durood to Muhammed . We can say Noorani Maahool. If we make so, will it not remind us of masajids? Khushu Khuzu will there in each of our ibadhaas. ..

hmmm... nice.

That reminds me of Hazrat Ba-Yazeed Bastami R.A. he used to close every hole of the room in which he worshiped. And literally that person inspires me a lot.

This is also what Mufti Zarwali stressed. He said religious homes in the past used to have their own separate prayer rooms.

Yes, but it's not feasible for most people. Most can hardly afford one or two rooms for their family. Anyway, I was under the impression that Nabi used to pray tahajjud either in his bedroom or in the masjid.

subhanallah!!

I was pondering over this for the last week as a TJ elder of our locality was stressing this point to us recently, that either have a seperate room for the women(and men) to perform their salah, tilawah, zikr etc) and if not a room, then dedicate a particular spot where she should perform her daily individual acts of worship like the ones mentioned before. I did not get a chance to ask why he was giving the issue such importance but alhamdulillah, this thread has answered my query,by the grace of Allah.

good thread OP!!!

It's not always feasible if space is short. However, if you have a 'guest' room that can easily be made into a 'spiritual' room. Of course one doesn't have to confine himself there every time he wants to pray, but it's nice to teach the kids that this is where you can go to pray and be quiet if you like. I would have shelves with kitabs and Qur'ans.

Of course one can pray anywhere in the house - one can create calm and peace in their house so the heart is inclined to be near Allah. Get rid of excess furniture and clutter, leave books out on shelves and get rid of the tv.

What else? Not related to having a separate prayer room but oil burners are excellent and very relaxing.

I know most of the houses I go to in SAfrica have a small prayer room in them, basically kind of like a kitaab room, to also study and read Qur'aan and salaah in.

The majority of the Muhaddithin have stated that these ahadith refer to masajid built in those areas where the people of one tribe reside ie. small community masajid, saving them the difficulty of travelling long distances to a Jami' masjid for every salah.

Some have indicated towards the possibly that a salah room in a home could also be meant, however that isn't the view of most muhaddithin.

Did the tiny homes of Sahabah contain a reserved salah-room?
I really doubt it.

And Allah Ta'ala knows best
