What is the most easyst way to backup your mysql database?

Any programs that can do it ??

Wow... now that is a blast from the past. Haven't needed to do this in a while. There is of course the mysqldump way of doing things (if you are running any kind of admin software interface, they will have an interface to doing this as well.)


There does seem to be some software packages out there, but it looks like they all just use MySQL's built in. Of course if you wanted something custom you could always write something in .Net or PHP to do a backup.

What are you backing it up from ?

Most software AND host servers have a back up feature in the built in.

In the software it's usually found in your maintenance part, while in your server in the C-Panel / SQL Options..

I would imagine if you are running it on your own private server, you can just do what I did from a host server and copied it to my desktop..

Yeah it is a my own private server...

Think i broke it...

Cannot get MYSQL installed now...

Just says installing and sits there.... hmmm Oh well...

Windows server? Are you trying to install from a WAMP/LAMP installer or just mysql base?

Access the database using MyPHPAdmin, and run the back up through there.

I think his problem is that MySQL might already be corrupted. If so and his software / server was not set to do auto-backups he maybe fucked..

Yeah i have fixed this problem....

Im not sure how i did it but manage to get it installed. worked, created database and it worked, and set it up using the workbench.... Backuped and all good!
