If you're using it for the purposes of seeing things and playing them on the PS3 - then PS3 Media Server is the most apt and useful. It's the one I use on the laptop for anything I watch on the PS3 that the NAS drive's media server can't cope with. It will automatically detect the PS3 on the network too (assuming it's on of course).
http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/ As for the second bit - being able to see files and get them *from* the PS3, I'm not sure anything exists in that respect. I did have a quick hunt around previously when wondering about the same thing but didn't find anything. I resorted to the USB way. |

the PS3 has shit networking with microsoft.... or is it microsoft being shit networking is sony!!! Sony's media streaming capability I have found to be adequate, as long as you have the network controller set up right, but there are problems with bandwidth restrictions among other things. |
