Brujah would ask, if you've tried doing it right yet http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif

You should pester him for IT support, it's what he does for work.

Dana, that's usually easy to tell.. If it's in a slot, it's a NIC Card, if it's where the mouse, USB and other connections are, it's onboard..

Perhaps telling us the model of the eMachine would be faster..

The only computer that come with built-in NICs these days are high end gaming machines with a "gaming" NIC in them.

Dana --- "issues" with the network adapter tells us exactly jack shit. Is there an error message? Is it just not connecting to the internet? Something else entirely?

lYVgWWcP 06-12-2011 12:24 AM

do you have Windows 7 ?

if you have windows what does it show in your device drivers?

TeNuaTe 07-11-2011 11:08 AM

It would nice to know what exact issues you are having that just say you are 'having issues with the network adaptor'

Clearly, connecting to OTz isn't a problem. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo.../toothless.gif

My laptop eMachine came with a NIC. The troubleshooter on the desktop says it detected a NIC but there was an issue with the driver or hardware. It's an Nvidia nForce. I asked for help there's no need to act snarky.

Only because I'm plugged in directly to the internet wiseguy LOL. I couldn't figure it out so I just plugged the DSL line into the tower.

gWhya5ct 07-11-2011 09:23 PM

Did you say it was only a wireless issue?

Why do you get so defensive when people are trying to help ???

GinaGomesz 07-11-2011 10:27 PM

Oh and yes just a wireless issue.

defensive? I don't think I was defensive. I was just joking with Darrel. Other than that I dunno.

cakaeroryrere 07-12-2011 01:37 AM

well from this side of the monitor it did not look like you were joking with Darrell

Anyhow did you check out your device drivers to see if any flags showed up there?

Does your network even show up or are there any networks that show up when you look for available networks?
