Computer Survey

What kind of computer do you own and what OS do you run? I own 2 Macs and 1PC but don't really use the PC any more. If you are curious about Bootcamp, it is Apple's utility that allows you to install Windows on your Mac computer and run programs natively. See the poll.

self-built PC running Windows 7

Should be a multiple choice one, where I could choose windows 7 and Linux, one being a laptop, the other being homebuilt

I agree. In our house, we have three computers with Windows and one mac. I wouldn't be surprised if this is due to the fact that I've used Windows for so long, but I've found macs to be much less user-friendly.

lopushok 01-07-2010 02:22 AM

Out of interest, how would you say a mac isn't user friendly??

For one, I had an impossible time trying to figure out how to access the internet. Apparently the web browser on mac is called Safari, which I thought at first glance, was anything but an internet browser. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif

Oh, please, come up with a real reason. There is absolutely nothing hard about saving to the desktop or deleting from said on a Mac. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/tongue2.gif

What version of Windows was out then? If it was XP, XP was a huge mess compared to the stability of the MacOS. As I understand even 7 still has a registry, one of the largest Achilles heals of computing ever created.

well that's nothing to do with user friendliness, just a misunderstanding of apps!

to delete a file you can: drag it to trash, hit cmd + delete, or select file and go File > Move to Trash.

Saving a file to the desktop? File > Save will do it... easy peasy http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif
