Default .net?
I was trying to jailbreak my iPhone ( prolly a bad idea cause yeah I am SO not tech savvy ) and I was downloading the application Sn0wbreeze as instructed.. well I cant get Sn0wbreeze to open because it says I need to make sure to have .NET version 2. something installed.. What in the world is that? and while I'm at it how can you tell if you have the old bootrom or new? cause it says not to jailbreak 3.1.3 for the iPhone 3Gs if you have the new bootrom.... i dont even know what a bootrom is!!! lmao I know i look like an idiot BUT i figured i'd at least ask...

.NET is a windows Mainframe program. Thats all I know. I wouldn't mess with something like that. I've done that type of tinkering in the past with bad results.

hang on, is your phone a 3GS?? You really shouldn't try to unlock or jailbreak those. We've managed a couple, but most just end up being locked and unusable.

Also, use blackra1n to jailbreak, much better.

iPhones are locked to a specific network, so you unlock them to use on other networks. You can then "jailbreak" the phones so you can install unapproved applications onto them, such as PHP, MySQL etc...

PHP is back-ended coding, specifically for likes of linking up with MySQL, which is simply a database collection server...etc...I think that what it means, nothing to do with hacking phones to unlock them

I know what they are, I use them every day.

Jailbreaking is the process you do to allow your iPhone to run that kind of thing because Apple has the system locked so you can't, I was just using MySQL and PHP as an example because that's why I jailbroke my phone.

i jailbreaked about 10-20 ipods so far and with experience I would recommend using spirit instead of ih8sn0w's jailbreak if you dont know what you are doing. Restore your iphone before you jailbreak using spirit

heres the website:

basically it manages the program's runtime requirements... so some programs require it in order to work. Personally im surprised it asks for 2.0, thought it would ask for the latest version.
