I use Skype mainly to voice chat to people, but I also use it to talk to people who don't have any of the 3 main IM programs.

Default Do you Skype ?
So I have had Skype for over two years now and like the program..

I wonder how many others actually use Skype and pay the small fee to call landlines like I do ?

Another Skypers out there ?

I like the Video quality I can get with my sister in the overseas. As well I have ex-in-laws in England we used to call but with my new land line I just got connected I get 1000 minutes to the UK a month with unlimited in Canada / US.. I needed it for my new work.. Skype just did not cut it for Cell Phones and such..

I also have a few friends that use it just for chat as well.. It can come in handy that way also.

You have to pay for it now?
I've got it but dont use it, got on my nerves, it's like one of those things like IM that everyone feels they have to keep trying out, even if the've got fuck all to say to you.

You only have to pay for the feature of calling actual phones. Anastasia and I use it all the time to video chat since we only see each other every couple of months, it helps out immensely.

I use it for video chats with the family so they can see Dominic. Never used the phone option.

retro has it right..

You only pay if you want to call land lines or mobiles ( Cells ).. But for Skype to Skype it is still FREE.

However you only need the FREE version should you only talk with people on Skype and they have really improved the quality lately with new versions of Skype release..

well let's all think about this for a sec.

even with skype, you still need a cell phone or at least a landline
for emergencies and just regular basis.
so you aren't saving money by using skype paid account.
unless you talk SO much that you go through cell phone minutes
like it's nothing. in which case, maybe you outta be thinking
about just spending that additional fee that you pay for skype
and just add it to your cell bill so you get more minutes?

I use it all the time - I have a friend from Uni who I chat with through skype, and I use it for international calls nearly daily. It is a great for really connecting with my friends all over the world

It was very useful when my NGO was awaiting our interns and one of them called me up to basically interrogated me about everything lol

I am glad I have skype
