It's either a fault with the charger (Do this, get another charger, if another charger works then it's the chargeryou have that is at fault) or if that doesn't work, then it's a problem with the hole in which you place the wire for the charger, in which case your laptop will have to be repaired.

Do you have an HP??? Mine has had that same problem ever since maybe a year after I bought it. I bought a new charger and it worked for a while, but then the screen went out. Got the screen fixed and then the charging problem came back. *shrugs*

Yeah, I have an HP... I bought three chargers for this laptop already and it seems stupid for me to go out and get a new one for this one... the chargers are like 150 bucks and I don't have that type of cash on me right now

First off, you should go through e-bay for your chargers...you can get them for at least 1/2 of that. Second, throw the laptop away and buy a different brand. LOL

I have dealth with this issue so many times as a professional IT support.

2 only possibilities are battery is dead or there is electrical issue within the laptop that prevents the battery from charging. Unfortunately the only way to test the battery is to put a fresh one in there and if it charges then it was the battery else then it was the laptop. Sorry I can't give you any easier way to tell. But that's how it goes. You should try taking the battery in to a shop and see if they can test it.
