Default IE, Fix
I fixed someone's IE last week. I used my standard method and it worked.

Just start up your computer, use CCleaner to clean off temporary files. and clean off any faulty registry entries (cleaning registry entries must be run multiple times until it stops finding any new entries or it only finds same one over and over)

Then try running IE again. If it still crashes just goto Tools, Internet Options
in the window that pops up, there's a tab typically very last or 2nd to last that you can go where it has button for resetting all your browser settings. It will reset your extensions and such.
Also run winsockfix if you have it for good measure (if running xp)
if you are running vista or windows 7
in the command prompt just type
netsh winsock reset

prob solved.
