That thing where it tries to automatically restart your computer and if you aren't fast enough, it does? Is there a way to turn that thing off?!

i've vista, but the same applies:

i have it set up to automatically download any updated, but then notify me before installing.

which means, every update is on my computer, but i get to pick and choose.

well i had no idea what was making my computer freeze. the last 2 updates wouldn't stall via auto update and so i installed them manually.

Mine is off as well. I got pissed after it installed a generic vid driver that didn't work with mine. So from that day forth I shall install all the updates myself.

Just did SP2 yesterday.

With 7 around the corner..

eh, it depends.

Lotta people hate the UAC (can be disabled), I "like" it.

Still runs my IDE, so I like it; the graphics (I actually use the AERO interface, instead of the classic if I was using XP).

It's got it's strong points, but the weaker points can overshadow the advantages.

To be honest, I would wait for 7 if you have not tried Vista yet.

I turned my Windows Installs right to Manual so I can control everything Microsoft does..

I was really happen when Windows Crashed both my bosses and my Sisters laptops and did a format right after the last update.. Coincidence perhaps but both happened right after the update and in the same manner.. On in XP and one in Vista but both on Dell Laptops..
