Default Incredibly Important Computer Question
Well, computer screen question:

I have one of them new-fangled computer screens that isn't hard glass. It needs to be cleaned but all I remember are reading all the "DON'T USE...!!!" cautions.

So what CAN I use?!

Spit?

Going to have to go to office supply and get the little wipes, just like the kids wipes but for computers. Tomorrows project.

Word of Caution: Be sure that the LCD screen is dry before closing it or using the computer. Do not use any solutions that contain Acetone, ethyl alcohol, toluene, ethyl acid, ammonia, or methyl chloride. Never touch the LCD screen with your fingers as this can cause the pixels to burn out.

A napkin? NOOOOOOOOOO - made from wood, my have larger fibers that might scratch.

And no, WTXJ, I'm not at KFC. Am losing weight - wouldn't be prudent.

I will probably head out for Hasting's for some of those wipey things. I've been looking for a good reason to go there - they have a Vincent Van Gogh Action Figure.

Yes! He comes complete with an easel, a palette, and a paint brush. And even better - he comes with interchangable heads: one with and one without the second ear!

you take a spray bottle. In said spray bottle mix 1 part vinegar with 1 part distilled water. then, make sure the monitor is turned off, spray the vinegar solution onto a soft cloth and wipe your screen with it.

I use it on my LCD's, as does my mother. I also used it to clean my laptop when i was still with StarTek.

The vincent van gogh thing is way cool. That would be neat to have on my desk here at the house.

Without splitting hairs too much, I don't have distilled water in the house but I do have drinking water. OK?

yep. the distilled will reduce spots....but you should use such a small amount that it doesn't really matter.

OK, my round can is electronic cleaning wipes. Safe on monitors, computer equip, DVD players, keyboards, TVs, on and on and on. The picture shows a lap top and a desk top monitor. I use them on my LCD screen, but don't take my word, I offer no guarantee. Just what I use, has no alcohol formula is safe for most surfaces.
Not good for your eyes, that's what it says.

I would believe that is correct, but I'm not a doctor or CPC person.
