Flash Problem?
Ok .. I have a serious problem .. I've searched the internets world wide and came up with jack shit to help me out. Not even my nerdalicious boyfriend has been able to figure this out .. so I am now reaching out to fellowed nerdlettes like yourself in search of a fix! http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...illy_nilly.gif
I have a new laptop, complete with good ole Vista (which despite the popular consensus .. I actually like pretty well). About 2 1/2 weeks ago when I turned it on and connected to my DSL .. I got a message telling me that there was a flash update. So I clicked and updated my flash. Promtly there after .. my sound quit working. Now I don't mean the computers sound system quit working, it works just fine when I play dvd's, cd's, or mp3's .. but when I go to You Tube, MySpace Videos, or Google videos (or any sight that has sound) .. I get .. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2.../cricket-1.gif. And it's REALLY pissing me off. I've un-installed it and re-installed it 20 times I bet. I've installed it as Administrator and as not administrator .. nothing. I've un-installed the new version and re-installed the old version .. nothing. I've un-installed it, cleane dout my registry, re-installed it as Admin .. nothing. Nothing I've found on the internet has worked .. I've read prolly 50 forums atrying to find a fix. I find plenty for XP, and some for 2000 .. but none for Vista. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...MILIES/102.gifhttp://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...MILIES/102.gifhttp://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...MILIES/102.gifhttp://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...MILIES/102.gifhttp://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...MILIES/102.gif Any fresh ideas? |
You may just have to start the services again.
Try: Start menu Right click on My Computer Click Manage Services & Applications Services Scroll down to "Windows Audio" Right click and select "start" or "restart" See what happens. |
Try going here:
C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash Then right click over both 'Flash9b.ocx' and 'FlashUtil9b.exe', and chose properties. In properties choose the 'security' tab > Click on the 'everyone' account, and the button called 'edit' and then tick the box called 'allow full control' and also choose your own Windows local account name. Once you have done this for both files run the FlashUtil9b.exe and it should install and update and tell you to restart. |

Ok..go to this website and download the file:
Deposit Files After it downloads, double click it and confirm. This file adds a couple entries into the registry that sometimes get messed around slightly when an update is applied. This seems to be a problem in all versions of windows. I hope this helpshttp://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif |
Okay, I'm not a tech or anything of the like, but a simple solution to a simple problem you may be having is that on YouTube, Google and other places, you may have to just turn the volume up on the actual video that is playing.
The same thing happens to me almost everytime. The problem was that when I go to YouTube and want to hear the audio part of the video, the volume control on the video is always OFF and I have to put the cursor on the volume control and push it up so that sound will come out. I believe, (I hope), that that is the problem you are having. Look at the volume control on the actual video to see if it is turned down all the way. |
Dear, you know me and my memory sometimes. We'll fix it the next time you are on yahoo., just remind me.

I wil try this stuff tommorrow LOL .. I've been out drinking and I don't think it's a good idea to fiddle with my computer right now.
I haven't had any problems with Vista until now .. I really don't think this is a Vista problem. |
