So, I traded my Brother a 1.2 ghz tuatlin (SP?) based PC I put together for a Sega Dreamcast with a million games.
20 minutes into Gauntlet Legends it stopped reading the CD's. ![]() so I went online & found some repair guides, took it apart, turned a potentiometer on the Laser housing to adjust it's speed & now I'm back to classic gaming glory. |

I'm impressed. I can do that stuff but I generally don't have the time to waste on that level of work anymore. Back when I was just out of college & things like DVD players still cost $300 I took a lot of things apart to fix. I'd say about 75% made it back together. ![]() These days though, surface mount tech makes it almost impossible to work on things. You just order a new board. But, it was actually a very simple fix. Simpler then I expected. |
