the xeon's are for servers however...not much for 3d processing...but the conroe's from what I hear are just going to blow the AMD's away until the new AMD's are released

So the core 2's have been released but I haven't heard nor read much of anything about them yet...any word on performance or the such?

ummm I know OCing them is very easy. I read that 2.9 cores OC to 3.45 with no problems thanks to the lock-free feature...

i'm not swithing my 660 for a while though :tard

actually their easier to overclock because of that and the bigger l2 caches.

conroe is the core technology in the pentium chip but their retail name are the core 2's or core 2 duo's.

why do you think i like the following naming schema:

478 pentium 4 3.0e ghz

socket, processor, speed


real easy to understand. unlike:

775 pentium 4 560j.

that doesnt tell me much past the socket and processor. 560j = nothing to me... except thats the new schema intel uses. unfortunately, i fucking hate it.

and i hear amd is good for gaming

well, as we all know, last gen pentiums always generated more heat then the comparable amd offering.

and now there is two individual cores... :tard
